Virtually try it on - before you buy online!

An Irish developed online virtual dressing room, www.annmariesdressingroom.com which is the first in the world to allow users to ‘try on’ fashion items on a self tailored mannequin, before they buy, will be launched onto the UK market in the coming weeks.  Founded by Annemarie Corbett,  AnnMarie's Dressing Room has already signed up over 95 international high street, designer, luxury and online brands and is free to users. The website has been developed over two years, currently employs 5 people, and was launched in Ireland in February to very positive reviews.

Virtual dressing rooms are the next step in enhancing the online shopping experience. They allow users to virtually dress up and accessorize their look, in their own time and privately via their Smart Phones or Desktop. Importantly, they also allow users to see how different looks from different brands appear visually before they purchase online.

Research indicates that Irish women alone spend €282 million annually on clothing online* with this figure growing year on year. However, making the right choices online, for all occasions from leisure to work and special events is important and frequently the expectation of what an item may look like when worn and how it presents when delivered, can be very different. Consumers also find it difficult to visualize how fashion items from different brands will actually look when worn, and how to mix and match looks and accessories on line from different labels to achieve a total look.  AnnMarie’s Dressing Room is the answer, as it allows users to virtually try on, style and accessorize an extensive selection of looks from top brands from high street to luxe, all on the one platform. Then if they like what they see, they can click to buy from the brands’ websites.

Created by Irish fashionista, Annemarie Corbett, the site is under constant development and is evolving in functionality daily.  Brands currently signed up include Karen Millen, TopShop, French Connection, boohoo, Missguided, Kenzo, Alexander McQueen, Ted Baker, New Look, Monsoon and many more.
