Colour wins at Listowel Races Ladies Day

Tasha O Connor from Templeglantine, County Limerick, won the Listowel Races Best Dressed Lady title on the opening day of the Whit Bank Holiday Race Meeting (Sunday 5th of June). Judged by style icon and TV personality, Lorraine Keane, assisted by fashion blogger, Orlagh Winters; she received over €2,000 in prizes, all sponsored by the businesses and publicans of Listowel Town. First runner up was Grace Flynn (Pallaskenry, Co, Limerick) who received €1,200 in prizes, and 2nd runner up was Linda O’Brien (Tralee) who won €700 in prizes. There was two other prizes, the Listowel Races Classy Lady, which was won by Lisa Martin from Tralee, wearing a headpiece and collar by Rebekah Wall, and the Listowel Races Best Accessories, which was won by Elaine Kelleher from Kilgarvan, wearing a floral headpiece (with actual jelly tots!) by top Tralee based milliner, Carol Kennelly.
Best Dressed Lady winner, Tasha O Connor, a clerical officer with the HSE, was accompanied to the races by her sister Jordana O Connor, and they were both celebrating their birthdays. Tasha, who wore a blush piece headpiece with flower detail by Marc Millinery Cork, a printed 1950’s styled dress from ASOS and matching shoes and bag from TX Maxx; only decided what she was wearing the night before, but her style caught the eyes of the judges.
Ladies Day at Listowel Races was organised by Eilish Stack and sponsored by the businesses and publicans of Listowel. Both organisers and judges were very impressed by the high standard of style, imaginative use of colour and the support for Irish designers and milliners by ladies when choosing their outfits.
The 7 day Listowel Harvest Racing Festival takes place from Sunday11th to Saturday 17th of September with the McElligotts Honda Ladies Day on Friday 16th of September.
